“UPCYCLED ART IS TRANSFORMING REFUSE FROM THE PAST INTO SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL FOR THE FUTURE” Dorothea LeBlanc
I love creating beautiful things out of refuse … stuff that's neglected and despised, is found and celebrated by me! I took the old unused stuff in my house and turned it into jewels, my leftovers went from pending oblivion to the showcase! This may be the future of art - because it's made from the past! Making abstract art is a genuinely creative process for “me” because: I LOVE recycling, I LOVE texture and design, I LOVE making colour sing, and I LOVE spontaneity!
It's my heart to help this world by reducing, reusing, recycling that inspires me to create what I call: lusciously textured upcycled paintings. When working this way I experience a completely different creative process than when painting realistically; perhaps the reason is that the perfect end has not yet been realized and it’s up to me to discover it! I'm an explorer and it's amazing that these unique pieces have a sneaky way of revealing my emotions.
