This jewel painting was inspired by a jumbled string of broken beads which I cut up and laid on the canvas in a grid (my typical approach). But when I swung my chair around - OH NO - it caught the beads and pulled them off to the side of the canvas! When I looked at it, it turned out to be the opposite of a disaster! I liked it so much that I developed it. It became a texture on a sandy beach.
