This was a piece I did during an emotional time, but I had no idea my feelings were affecting my painting. The only thing I knew was that for this project I wanted to experiment with broken glass - I did not make the association with my emotional state at the time. As was normal for one of my abstracts, I found recycled items: small table coverings, doilies this time, and adorned them with items like jewellery, coins and keys. 

Not until I was completely finished did the story even come together; that of a mother and daughter having lunch - but not being able to communicate.
