Sea Glass Pie
Sea Glass Pie
After taking a two day trip to Cape Breton, driving around the Cabot Trail, and staying at a beautiful beach, I came home with a leather marble bag (made locally) full of sea glass. And I was eager to "put them to canvas" even though I had no idea where I was going with my various items of glass, old necklaces and very old shells. What emerged as I began working was a delightful painting that emanates the joy of summer, of playing in the sand, of exploring and collecting the things nature creates.
Items used: shell necklaces from thrift shops, sea glass from Cape Breton, 15 year old scallop shells the kids and I collected from the coast of Nova Scotia, and acrylic paint.
